In the UK there is the discussion of expanding the use of facial recognition by the government in an effort to reduce crime. I trust the UK government to use the technology responsibly, I can’t say the same thing if this were happening in the US, if this were being employed by Elon Musk.

IMHO one of the differences between conservatives and liberals is with whom they align their trust. I think liberals generally put their trust in the government for protection whereas most often, conservatives distrust the government, preferring corporations.
