「基督教民族主義」就其本質來說，就是一種另類的「成功神學」，鼓吹者借用幾節聖經的經文，妄圖把一個世俗國家，塑造成所謂被上帝揀選的國家和民族，於是統治者成為「天選之人」，吹捧者不斷把「凡人」塑造成為「神」，並可能為政治權力的濫用提供理論依據，於是各種罪惡都可以在神權的光環下發生。
