Time skips through summer, to the first weekend of senior year. Damien and all of his friends are still at St. Augustine's, while a freshly 18 Spencer enrolls in the closest public school. All of their friends go to Damien's house for a sleepover, and things are finally starting to look up. [END]

Spencer's dad shows up with the rest of Spencer's things three days later. All ties are officially cut, and all Spencer has is Damien.

The first few days are tense, as they anticipate the possible repercussions of Spencer's leaving. Joanna agrees to handle her and Damien's parents, and Spencer and Damien attempt to fall into normalcy as two 17 year olds barely in a relationship living together.

It's Spencer, and Damien bolts from the party to go get him. Spencer reveals that his dad started talking to him again right before the end of the school year, and all he wanted to do was fix things. They get back to Damien's, and that's it. Spencer has no plans of ever going back.

Move out day arrives, and Spencer is supposed to meet Damien to leave with him. Spencer doesn't show up. Damien is devastated, falling into a depression in the first weeks of summer. For the first time, he attends his parents charity gala without a plus one. It's at this gala that he gets a call.

It is revealed that almost a year ago -- this garden is where they kissed for the first time, meeting accidentally when they had both gone there while upset about separate things. In present, Spencer breaks down, lost about what to do. Damien offers an escape plan, and Spencer agrees.

Spencer completely isolates himself, relapsing into old self harm habits, and Damien and his friends are left lost. Until one night, Damien and Spencer meet by accident in the church garden where they had both gone to clear their heads. They get in one last fight and Spencer breaks.

Until 3 weeks later, after Spencer told Leah that he couldn't be with her, and Damien and Spencer are called into Father Abraham's office. Leah told him everything she knew, and their entire world collapses. Spencer's dad stops speaking to him, and Spencer stops speaking to everybody.

He tells Spencer he either needs to be in and out -- no more of this casual hooking up any more, and Spencer finally says yes to being together. Things seem fine, until Leah stumbles across him. After Damien talking to her, she seems to have agreed to keep quiet about it for now, even hurt.

In an attempt to fix things with Leah at least, Spencer goes to prom with her. Damien still isn't speaking to him. Things are going well until Spencer has a meltdown and leaves her at the dance, ending up wandering the halls of the school until he finds Damien. There, Damien gives him an ultimatum.

The next morning, Spencer calls Leah over. She likes him, he knows this, and knows that he should want to do things with her. He tries, and fails to have sex with her, accidentally telling her that he can't, "not with her". Now Damien and Leah are both upset with him.

While his dad is gone, Spencer gets drunk on stolen communion wine, and calls Damien over in an attempt to have sex with him again. Sober this time, Damien refuses, citing their previous agreement to not do this, leading an explosive argument that leaves Damien not speaking to Spencer.

Things go back to normal after this. At one point, Spencer asks Damien how he knew he liked men, to which Damien tells him that he thinks Spencer already knows the answer. Everything is business as usual until the weekend before prom, Spencer's dad goes a few states over for a mission trip.

They're about to have sex when Spencer takes off his pants and Damien notices old self-harm scars, and then instead of doing anything, Spencer has a panic attack and the mood is ruined. Once Spencer calms down, they go back to bed and don't talk about what just happened.
