Like this is something sega's done themselves a lot, actually, with similar issues but ALSO with some success

Eggman had this famous pose drawn by Yuji Uekawa, and for Unleashed they recreated it with their new redesign. They did it AGAIN in-game in generations, but it's... less good.

This image in particular is quite famous, one of his earliest illustrations of the character for general promotional art / not associated with box-art or video game promotion, but rather advertising eggman as a character on his own--though, it could have been made for a game. I don't remember! Dr. Eggman from Sonic Unleashed promotional CGI, striking the exact same pose as the previous image. The proportions are not identical to the illustration, especially with the design of the mustache, and some creative liberties were taken, but many of the angles and the overall sense of "appeal" is incredibly similar, with many identifiable angles in the pose (such as the position and thrust of his chest, his lean forward with his legs and hips, and his shoulder line) are pretty much the exact same as Uekawa's promotional drawing. A virtual trophy of Dr. Eggman in the game "Sonic Generations" (2011), posed similarly to the previous two images. Despite the same inspiration, the execution on this is very different. There are reasons the pose isn't AS striking as the attempt for the Sonic Unleashed render, such as the fact It's a rotateable 3D model, so there is not as much control over the viewing angle or field of view. Inherently, there will be compromises made for 360 degree appeal. Beyond that though, there are some lost elements all the same. Eggman's chest is not pronounced forward as much, his shoulder line is not pronounced, his eyebrows no longer make a confident, identifiable S-curve, and the positioning of his head and mustache make his teeth--and therefore smile--completely invisible. While a full-view model will never have the same level of control as a still render, the general appeal of the design is still held back by not pushing the design as far as it CAN go, which is the case regardless of how much control the viewer has in seeing the whole model. This is not necessarily a mark of skill, however--Generations has about 50 of these statues, and it was likely a low priority in terms of the overall game development, so resources had to be split and compromises made on the designs to finish them on time. C'est la vie.

cuz like now when people make threads like they used to on twitter, rather than scrolling down and seeing a stream of posts, this shit gets continuously indented and it's UGLY to look at.

There has to be another way lol
a section of a thread by Nash / @radiodeadair.com who talked about why people are okay with the CEO of UnitedHealthcare getting shot. In this, every reply to a previous post (which were all made before the thread format change) gets continuously more and more indented, making it harder to read each reply because of how squished horizontally it becomes.
