IANAL, but your last 2 sentences relate to my question: do lawyer ethics include considering the ramifications of your action? Like, is she ethically obligated to consider what her quitting does to her coworkers' caseloads, who are probably just as overburdened as her?

Over 25 years ago, I worked with a single man whose usual birthday & Christmas gifts to his nieces and nephews were US Savings Bonds. It's always been an option. No branded "Trump Account" necessary.

We live on a side street that the township, not PennDOT, plows. My husband befriended the township plowguy one or 2 winters ago, goes out to chat with him and takes him coffee. Plowguy makes sure to keep our driveway open. 😁
