Not trying to spew some hate here—I like the Switch 2, but I just still cannot see what makes the mainline games cost $70-$80. Rising game development costs contributes to that, sure, but for me, as a consumer, it feels painful, spending $80 on something I’m only going to play in my short free time.

A MacBook Air can do other productive things aside from gaming. There are many free, open source software that opens the potential of the computer as opposed to a console that requires another paid product to fully utilize it.

I mean if you think about it, the thing that makes the Switch fulfills its purpose are its games, and they can be maniacally expensive depending on what you buy.

Actually it’s the opposite.
What I’m trying to say is that the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware with software that enables its purpose costs the same as a computer that is known to be expensive.
In other words, the Switch 2 is expensive.
