It would be great if the crushing load caused him to retire.

Your cat would have lasted longer as GM than Zach Scott did.
November 27, 2025 at 7:21 PM
I think Stearns is a lot smarter than that. At least, I hope so. That trade was made by Zach Scott, who will not be missed.
November 27, 2025 at 7:18 PM
True. But from everything I’ve heard, Benge is a special prospect.

American economy is built on waste and throwing away perfectly good cars, phones, computers, clothes because they aren’t the latest models.
November 27, 2025 at 5:24 PM
The fact that they haven’t had a decent QB in years certainly puts a lid on their potential.
November 27, 2025 at 5:21 PM
OTH, if he lights it up in training camp, he might just make the club. Sometimes a kid is ready right out of the gate, like Alonso was. Sometimes it takes a long time (like Baty). There’s no predicting it.

Another thing to keep in mind with him: he hit those HR playing in some really big ballparks. I saw somewhere that if he’d been in Citifield, he would have hit over 30 HR multiple times in recent years.
November 27, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Understood. He might not even break camp with the team. But I expect to see him starting before the All Star break.
November 27, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Absolutely. Certainly wouldn’t surprise me to see two or more trades and at least as many FA signings over the next few weeks.
November 27, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Semien came in 3rd in MVP race in 2023. He’s also hit 45 HR once, 33 HR once and has 4 seasons of 20+ HR. Missed hitting 20 last season probably because of injury that cost >30 games. Age worries him, but we won’t know how much he has left until we see him play.
November 27, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Also forgetting that Mets have high hopes for Carson Benge.
November 27, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Tell that to Jets fans who haven’t seen a winning season since 2015 and only one winning season since 2011. Never made the playoffs. During that period the Steelers have made the playoffs 9 times.
November 27, 2025 at 5:01 PM
I hope it works out for both parties. But I’m concerned by his inconsistency—it seems every good season is followed by a bad one.

Low-balling Alonso. I think each of them will get 5 years.

Well deserved.

Depends on the pie.

Why stop there? Why not do DNA tests for genetic predisposition for diseases? Why not genealogy tables, including how old your ancestors lived to be? How about monitoring driving records to see if you might get injured in an accident? Start invading privacy and where does it stop?

I don’t even respect him on matters related to sports.

They already make gambles like this by buying stocks of companies that profit from legislation they vote on. But I guess this gives a faster payoff.

One of the greatest films of all time.

Nimmo obviously approved the trade. We’ll never know the reasons, but no state/city income tax and a more conservative community were probably pretty attractive to him.
November 24, 2025 at 9:43 PM
It’s a tricky injury. Hope he recovers well.
