Don’t get me wrong. It’s not like “It’s all lies.” It’s just that all news reporting should be understood in the context of who is reporting, their class orientation, and who they work for.

You give women pockets and then they are all squeamish about putting anything in them that would make a visible lump.

Misleading headline and post. The prohibition, from a year ago, is against _new_ sharrows, not existing ones. More importantly, the prohibition of new sharrows applies only to streets with speed limits in excess of 30 mph. And it is rare to see a sharrow on a street with a higher speed limit.

Trump is merely an avatar for your neighbors with the flag decals on their car and hate in their hearts. When Trump is gone, they will find the next demagogue to carry their water for them.

In case anyone needed a reminder about the real basis of private property.

Sorry, but aren’t you equating the two? As if the way one responds to the actions of a state should dictate the way one responds to the actions of a cult? As if they are of the same kind? I don’t believe that they are. Do you?

While I agree that both the Israeli state and ISIS are murderous and immoral, they are not the same kind of entity and not the same problem. It seems strange and wrong to demand that the response to the actions of one should somehow match the response to the actions of the other.

In the ambulance, the EMT injected me with 100 mcg of fentanyl and I was very grateful for it.

The GOP effect. It’s as if the electoral result gives a cultural permission for private employers to discriminate.

A lot of people for the haters to hate. But not too many, obviously.

They are all public corporations and the stock of each is currently owned by many people, with much of that ownership in the hands of the very wealthy, many of whom are doing specific things which are actively killing millions of people. Arguing one brand vs another doesn’t mean much.

Tara, commenting is not the same as lecturing, and criticism is not the same as denying permission. As to not being acquainted, well, comments from strangers is what posting here invites. Does that help?
December 12, 2025 at 2:48 AM
Um, if you don’t want people to comment on your posts, don’t post.

Geez, what do you think of when you see a VW bug?
December 11, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Don’t buy a Ford or a Volkswagen, then.
December 11, 2025 at 8:18 PM
My point.
December 11, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Good point. However, if that post wasn’t an invitation to virtue-signaling, you wouldn’t be seeing so many reply posts from people who spend their time debating brand preferences and/or throwing middle-school insults, two pastimes that are on the same level. Why engage in either?
December 11, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Looks like that goes both ways.
December 11, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Yeah, I admit it, I live here.
December 11, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Here’s another Berkeley self-styled “progressive” virtue-signaling rather than engaging in serious political fightback. What brand of car people drive or what dish soap they use is not, believe it or not, very relevant to the battle at hand.

This is key to white American political culture. Solidarity among whites is based on common whiteness, and whiteness is a lie. White Americans hasten to commit wholeheartedly to untruths generally. Displaying capacity to honestly and sincerely believe lies confers status and builds in-group trust.
