@dangillmor I read "They Thought They Were Free” this year--a post-WW2 study of civilians in Germany. It essentially describes exactly what you just said.

@w7voa "ignoring overwhelming evidence" is kind of the stock and trade of the conservative movement of the last two decades. Election results, global warming, alternative power sources, effects of immigration...ignoring evidence enables nearly all of their positions.

@ramsey Another myth is that all of these monoliths are going to go away. Most will never leave. They won't get "rearchitected." They'll stay right where they are.
