PS: you are driving down potash alley. Starting just west of Saskatoon through to the Manitoba border on Highway 16 you will drive by/near 9 potash mines.

Wynyard Interpretive Centre has a display showing the area's importance to many migratory birds. Can also eat at the Peppertree located in Wynyard.

As you travel on Highway 16 east past Kandahar (yes, named after that Kandahar) look north to the lake. The large buildings is Compass Minerals where we produce potassium sulphate. The only manufacturer of potassium sulphate in Canada.
