Sigh. The things we'd like to do with people who aren't with us any longer :-(

Are you feeling better today?

Maybe call a local zoo and see if they have a source you can use?

When I as getting chemo in the veins on the back of my hand, the staff would wrap my hand in a warmed towel to make it easier to use the veins. Maybe a hot water bottle on yours would help?

I liked it enough to buy on DVD. Let me know what you and your kid think.

Just two dogs? Your crew is slipping :-)

Yum! I'll have my first two with butter and real maple syrup. The second two with really good crunchy peanut butter. Happy Sunday!

You didn't ask for recs, so I apologize if this is presumptuous. Enjoy!

There's a Whoopee Goldberg film called "Call Me Claus" which is one of my favorite Christmas films, tho it got almost no attention when it came out (a make for TV movie, I believe). I highly recommend it. Also my favorite A Christmas Carol version is a musical from 1970 called "Scrooge!"

4/4 If you might like a mini-series set in 1970s Hong Kong, with more Pierce Brosnen, try Noble House based on a novel by James Clavell (who also wrote the screenplay for my earlier rec of The Great Escape). I hope you feel better soon!

3/? Notting Hill with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts is my favorite romantic comedy. My favorite WWII movie is The Great Escape with a bunch of great actors. Julie and Julia about part of Julia Child's life in France along with the story of a fan of hers who learns to cook.

2/? For something completely different, The Cola-Cola Kid, set in Australia. Not an American film, and has some of the best twists and turns I've ever seen while being light-hearted. Everyone I've ever shown it to has enjoyed it.

The Chosen about two Jewish boys growing up in 1940s New York. Based on a novel by Chaim Potok: Great movie about friendship and family. /The Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnen and Rene Russo. Smart, and includes one of the sexiest dance scenes ever filmed. 1/?

I'm curious...do you have French ancestors?

And maybe it's combined with fewer people getting flu shots this year.

Sorry--Unsure if "Tell me about it" was a request for additional info, or acknowledgment that we both tried to solve the pocket problem in similar ways :-)

I reported him for using insulting and derogatory terms to posters, then blocked him.

And lots of women's clothes don't have pockets at all, which is why I bought a hip pack big enough for my phone and my asthma inhaler, and pretty much wear it all the time. Portable pocket :-)
November 14, 2025 at 12:10 AM
Um. Not a fan of horror, so...no thanks.

And introverts have an even more difficult time with any form of public speaking.
November 14, 2025 at 12:04 AM
I say this as an extrovert who took a mandatory speech class her first semester in high school, then went on to participate in, and win, high school speech tournaments, including impromptu and expository speeches. It's very much a learned skill that's served me ever since.
November 14, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Hm. I would say that is only fair if the school requires a mandatory speech class. A great part of "interesting" in speeches is presentation, and many people have no idea how to do that, especially when it has the element of impromptu that an oral exam has.
