One time I heard someone say “it’s better to come from a broken home than to live in one” and I still think it’s the best advice I’ve ever heard. And the “home” can be family, work or whatever situation isn’t healthy. It’s hard, but peace is worth it. Wishing you all the best ❤️

I’m a Democrat living in a blue state and I lost so many friends during the pandemic because I wouldn’t shut up about how school shutdowns were harming children. I work with kids so I saw it every day as their lights dimmed. I don’t know how this wasn’t obvious to policy makers at the time.

My old German shepherd chewed up an ENTIRE deck in her first three or so years of life. Not a small deck either mind, a very large deck. She lived to be about 11… the deck did not 😬 my other GSD ate an ottoman. And my current dog once ate a whole bar of soap. 🤣.

Yeah same. He’s astounded every time I stand up for myself. It may have taken me 20 years to grow a backbone but grow one I did! Now when he texts me demands and I respond simply with “no” he is just dripping with shock that he can’t simply dictate how things will be anymore.

The first time his wages were garnished (which I had notified him of one month in advance) he was furious “this can’t possibly be legal!!” Um… do you know what a court is?

My ex also thought he should get to decide what my “fair share” was. Boy was he mad when I lawyered up to ensure I got what I was actually entitled to. And then even more mad when I filed to have support be garnished and go through the court so he couldn’t decide when to pay me or not.

In three days it will mark three months in my new condo, post divorce, where I live in absolute peace for the first time in 24 years 🥰.

There is no coming back from that, when your own father uses your heartbreaking divorce to try and further their maga agenda. Ignoring the fact that my kids are queer and only safe in a blue state.

When I chose to go no contact with my MAGA father was when I was sobbing on the phone because I was scared about being alone after my divorce and he chose to use that time to rant about Gavin Newsom and how the solution to my all my woes was to move myself and my teens out of California.

Highly recommend the Beartown Trilogy… but keep tissues near by.. I’m surprised I wasn’t hospitalized for dehydration after the third one 😭 really gorgeous story telling though.
