Last night, I spoke in Parliament on behalf of my constituent, a veteran of the Falklands War.

He received blood transfusions – and was later diagnosed with Hepatitis B – but that fact has never been formally recognised, potentially precluding him from support he is entitled to.

Labour must make good on its pledge to fight the working-class male health crisis.

📰 My article for the Daily Express:
'Labour must make good on pledge to fight working-class male health crisis'
The Government is right to say we must act, this opportunity must not be squandered.

Thanks as always for the warm welcome!

The introduction of the Hillsborough Law to Parliament is a monumental step forward in ensuring that truth and justice can never be concealed by the state again.

What a legacy for the 97 and all the families and campaigners who fought so hard for so long.

Pleased to join members of Hartley's Village Residents Association for a tour of the site. They are working hard to restore the Grade II-listed former jam factory buildings and preserve Walton’s rich industrial heritage for generations to come.

Lovely to join The Opening Doors Project for their Community Lunch at St. Nathanael's Church Hall.

We need to cherish and support spaces like this, where people can come together, share a meal and build our sense of community.

Thanks to Our House Walton Community Hub for hosting my latest advice surgery.

Meeting constituents and taking up their concerns is the most rewarding part of the job.

Yesterday I met with residents to discuss their housing concerns.

Family homes being turned into Housing in Multiple Occupation by profiteering landlords affects more deprived communities the most.

I am working with local and national government to make sure we take action.

It was great to visit Sainsbury's Rice Lane to meet staff and learn more about the challenges facing our retail sector.

It was great to visit Jaguar Land Rover's plant in Halewood.

JLR is a significant employer in the Liverpool area, providing high-quality, unionised jobs.

A fantastic example of British manufacturing excellence right on our doorstep.

It was a pleasure to visit Our Lady and St Swithin's Catholic Primary School.

I had the opportunity to meet with school councillors and even take part in an interview for the school podcast. 🎙️

The inquest into the tragic death of 15-year-old kickboxing champion Alex Eastwood revealed a dangerous gap in our duty to protect children.

In Parliament, I echoed his family's calls for clear, enforceable national guidelines to prevent such a tragedy being repeated.
July 9, 2025 at 10:31 AM
Honoured to be joined by Alex Eastwood's family ahead of my debate on safeguarding children in combat sports.

No child should lose their life participating in a sport they love.

This evening, I will lead a debate on safeguarding children in combat sports.

It relates to the tragic death of my constituent, 15-year-old kickboxing champion Alex Eastwood, and his family's powerful call for change.

This week's parliamentary proceedings on welfare reform descended into chaos, but I welcome that the Government has now listened to concerns and will no longer make changes to PIP until after a review co-produced with disabled people. This approach should have been taken from the start.
July 3, 2025 at 11:01 AM
Connection with loved ones is not an optional extra – it is essential to dignified care.

The Government must deliver on the promise for a legal right to maintain contact in care settings, so that no one is isolated when they need support the most.

I was delighted to welcome my constituent Katherine, along with a dedicated delegation of Parkinson’s UK nurses, to Parliament.

It was a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand about the vital work they do to support people living with Parkinson’s.

Great to see the fantastic work of Shaping Futures, helping young people make informed choices about their future education pathways.

Also enjoyed a thoughtful Q&A session with students from Dixons Academy Croxteth – bright minds asking big questions!

Thank you to Aintree residents who came to my latest constituency surgery to discuss concerns about HMOs. I’ll be working closely with local councillors to ensure these issues are raised with the local authority and properly addressed.
