Once again, if you're in Brighton this Saturday then come along to the first Cartoon County Comics Fair! I'll be there along with the city's finest comics talent.
October 13, 2025 at 9:52 AM
I will be at this selling comics and original art at very reasonable prices. If you're Brighton based (or nearby) then pop along as there will be loads of other cool stuff too.

I am in this! I'm doing a nice little story about cats. Here's a little taste of what's to come...

Boxes #3 still needs your help!

3 days to go and still a good chunk of funding needed.

If you're unsure, here's an unused page from my story The Nihilist Dad:

Boxes #3 has six days to go and is just over half way funded. My strip, The Nihilist Dad, will be in it, so please consider backing if you want to know what my Dad told me when I was a kid and asked him about the meaning of life.

Looks like guidance and clarification is yet to come...

Here's another favourite panel from The Nihilist Dad, featuring in Boxes #3 currently on kickstarter.

I've got a story in this. It's a personal story and it something I've been wanting to do for a while. It wouldn't work as a single 24 page issue so it seemed like it had nowhere to go until boxes came along.

Have a look and consider backing, the UK is sorely short of comic anthologies right now.

Arthur Machen's The Great God Pan is an 84 page Perfect Bound Graphic Novel, yours for only £15!

I also printed a limited number of A4 Deluxe Hardbacks, the last copy of which I will have at TB. The Hardback also include the 'making of' and a lovely dust jacket.

Find me here!

It was accidental that the cover was essentially the same design as The Ferryman but people would comment on it as some kind of intentional theme so I’m now keeping it going…
November 14, 2024 at 1:40 PM
The bust on the cover was inspired by one I saw at Nyman’s National Trust Gardens. It had just the right amount of sneering for the horny goat God himself.

I imported the text in to a word document and slowly began the process of hacking it up in to a workable script. It was two years in the making, from scripting to final production and along the way I kept a type of journal which ended up as a 20 page ‘making of'

It’s really hard to sum up what The Great God Pan is really about which also make it difficult to sell to someone who has never heard of it. I go with ‘Victorian supernatural mystery’ but it’s so much more.

Just over three years ago I decided, for some reason, to adapt one of the best works of Victorian horror in to a Graphic Novel all by myself.

Missed this yesterday as I was too busy at work so here is the third book I’ll be selling at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social this year:

Arthur Machen’s The Great God Pan!

Still, a few years later it The Golden Idol found its audience on Kickstarter and I think it's still a solid little story. Huzzah!
November 12, 2024 at 3:11 PM
Originally released as pay ‘what you want’ digital download it was met with zero fanfare. Literally not a single download.

Couldn’t even give it away…

They say 'comics will break your heart' and this did it for me. The lack of interest was one of the reasons I took a break for a few years.

Another book I’ll have at @thoguhtbubbleuk this year is Joanna Fischer & The Golden Idol!

52 page Lovecraftian Action & Adventure.

Anyway, The Ferryman is £5 and you can find me in Travelling Man hall, table B22b:

In the end, I just went with the goat skull and tried to make it look more like a film poster than a cover.

I’ve been told it’s quite striking so I now kinda use it a logo.
November 11, 2024 at 1:21 PM
The Goat Skull cover was a place holder for a long time whilst I tried to figure out something cool. My original plan was scuppered when I worked out I’d accidently ripped of a Becky Cloonan picture. My sketch below with the pic from By Chance or Providence.

This is the first book I made after a break from comics (2016-20) due to becoming a father and not sleeping for four years. It deals with my own fears about being a parent and how to move on from tragedy. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever made.
