I’m Danilo & I’m an ID attending at Montefiore. I just graduated from the MGH/BWH Fellowship in July & moved to NYC w/ my husband!
My interests are diverse, but mostly HIV, general ID, STIs & med ed.

If pts are down to do it, I give them multiple vaccines at once. Today a pt received six shots in the appt!
My thinking is that 1) we don’t know when/if their next contact with the HC system will happen, therefore will take the opportunity & vax 2) shortens time to complete series and protection

It is terrible that the US has had so many cases of congenital syphilis. More testing, treatment, and equitable prevention needed!
I am still incredibly disappointed that a country like the US had 3882 cases of congenital syphilis in 2023. An infection that is totally preventable and treatable with timely diagnosis. It is one of the strongest predictors of health inequity

When seeing virally suppressed pts, there's an "inertia" to just refilling the current ART regimen - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
While that is true (to an extent,) here's a few situations in ART management that should prompt at least a conversation w/ the pt:
