Almost caught the image I had in my head for the last few years. We could have done without the clouds but I suppose that's nature. The forecast called for complete cloud cover but we had a better view last night versus the night before. #aurora #Canada #northernlights

A great blue heron - this was my first capture of this type of bird back in 2019. Taken with a 600mm telephoto lens, I was quite a distance away when I spotted him and quietly got the shot.
