My spouse got a new Dell work laptop yesterday, and it looks...uh...familiar. #apple

The Dell does have more ports than the MacBook Air, and the track pad is far better than they used to be, so I wouldn't be put out having to work on it, other than dealing with Windows.

I was curious as to how Canada's agriculture sector was doing recently. I haven't found a breakdown for specific crops or exports, but overall it stopped growing in October 2024, but hasn't seemed to suffer any significant drop in productivity.

I just demolished this bag of Farm Boy* brand chickpea chips. They taste to me like fried pork rinds, but only have 12g of fat per 50g of chips. 5g of protein and 2g of fibre as a bonus. Super crunchy, and perfectly shaped for salsa. I'm addicted.

There was a time when all great buildings were made to enhance a city. But today we think the extra effort is inefficient and a waste of money. We forget that the work of craftsmen will be enjoyed by millions of people, while a dull, lifeless façade will oppress […]

I don't see live music that much anymore, but last night I got myself out to see Gary Clark Jr at the Ottawa Jazz Festival. Clark is a talented blues/rock musician from Texas who gave an electric 90 minute performance. It still amazes me that Ottawa can host 4 […]

One reason economics is called the dismal science is that economists keep throwing cold water on seemingly good ideas. For example, NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdami's idea for publicly-owned grocery stores will not bring down food prices because grocery […]
