We had an incredible weekend at Animazement in Raleigh this past weekend. Great traffic through my girls’ booth and record-setting sales for a single event for them. We get to do it all again for Raleigh Game & Geek Expo in 2 weeks! I’ll be cosplaying from one of my favorite games for that one.

I am absolutely thrilled to share that I'm starting a new side hustle doing custom 3D printing and laser cutting/engraving. My daughters and I have been been making things with our lasers and 3D printers for a few years so it's time to get official. I give you "Layer and Line Customs"!

We are about to seriously expand our laser cutting/engraving capabilities this week. On Thursday we’re picking up a 100W CO2 laser to add to the diode and IR lasers we already have. This thing is gonna be SO much fun.

I think it might finally be time to throw away these FireWire cables that have been living at the bottom of my USB cable box for over a decade. Maybe…still trying to decide if it’s too soon.

I’ve been in Dallas the last few days with a good friend. Yesterday and today we set up 3 temporary amateur radio stations and participated in the “Winter Field Day” event which gave us a great opportunity to test our ability to communicate in emergency situations from temporary locations. #HamRadio

Been working on installing the upgrade kit to convert my Prusa MK3S 3D printer to the MK4S the last couple days. Got to step 249 of 319 (yes, those are real numbers) only to find out my kit was missing a bag of hardware required. Prusa was nice enough to ship it to me but I'm not finishing today. :(

Those that know me know I'm a total geek. To prove that for the rest of you, I spent about an hour wiring up a Kasa smart power strip to my Home Assistant server and building a simple dashboard so we can control the things in the craft room independently (laser engraver, lights, fans, etc)

Yesterday I got to see my son and a couple hundred of his closest friends perform their final half-time show of the season. We spent nearly 10 hours total on the road to go see him and I’m still tired today, but I’m damn proud of him. #WCU #MarchingBand
