There are problems on iPad just running bluesky in safari, where it is impossible to do full screen video for some reason.

I use the “special guest star” analogy, like when someone announces a guest but they don’t want to reveal if the person is male or female to help keep the mystery until they say who it is…so the announcer will use “they/them” over and over and we all understand it.

I try to do it. But still the shaming is bad, it does not help people change behavior, nor make them more sympathetic to the need for alt text.

We used to be able to rely on a level of decorum for our Presidents. It was a scandal when Nixon cursed on secret tapes. This BS is out in the open.

We have a large close extended family, and I guess it follows conventions for my culture. Where for example if one were the sister of my uncle (by marriage), even though technically she was of no blood relation to us, we could call her an aunt - cause she is same level as other aunts and uncles.

The fire early in 2025 called Eaton fire was primarily in Altadena, where we lost close to 6000 homes and 19 lives.

These are folks who get scammed, they aren’t looking to get it to anything, they are duped into thinking they are in a predicament where the solution is presented as crypto, and usually they have no idea what it even is. It’s sad. I do agree though, spreading the word is important

I have a family member who chose this kind of memory care. It is lively, and generally cheerful, of course it can have chaotic moments, but everyone is safe behind the same front door between residents and reception area. The inside does not feel restricted. Seemed better than the isolated wards.
