It just occurred to me this transition may catalyze a further break or disruption in his mental state. I’m not a professional, but it’s not difficult to imagine his defenses / circuits are overwhelmed now.

The Senate leadership probably chose this option to out-maneuver Johnson’s weaseling about-face. MJ assumed it would stall there for resolutions. Now T and his lackey must own their capitulation. We shall see.

I read it as Thune one-upping Johnson, who assumed it would stall in the Senate. Of the two, Thune is a wider player.

Yeah, I don’t see him emerging from under the weight of this now. The past tactics won’t have the same effect with damaged goods. Too much mass momentum.

I believe it’s a different set of files, for one. So jurisdiction. FBI, under DOJ direction, has priority access to the E files. The emails were stored elsewhere.

It would also delay the ideologically abhorrent JDV from weaseling in. And it would further splinter the GOP factions, who are already flailing under the weight of mass public and political momentum to finally release the files. Delays like this would not play well now.
