I agree. Plus, a lot of people only pay attention to things that affect them directly and they just haven't felt the pinch ... yet.

Well, sure, we could debate all day whether there is bias in a polling sample, but the point I was making is that (assuming the polls are actually telling us something) we're heading into Totalitarianism and nearly half the country seems to be OK with that. And WTF is wrong with those people?

I think getting kids to read anything is a win, so calling the books they like "dessert books" just discourages them.

I saw the polling averages on Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight.com so it's YouGov, Pew and others. I assume they're unbiased, but I admit that I'm just trusting the source.

I feel the same way. I can understand some people who think he's doing all the stuff they care about like "owning the libs" and deporting brown people, but what about independents and all the people who voted for him because they didn't think he would do the scary stuff? WTAF, indeed.

What absolutely blows me away is that his approval rating keeps gaining ground. Yesterday on 538 his approval rating has improved from like +8 negative to +0.8 negative. He's threatening to move into positive territory. What the heck is wrong with people?
