“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”—Mencken
Every insight into human behavior I have ever had has come at the cost of admitting something unpleasant to myself about my own psychic needs and motivations.

A generalization based on admittedly limited evidence, but I have been frustrated that most coverage of Trump’s failure to make a deal with Iran before the Israeli strike doesn’t mention that Trump foolishly killed the same deal, which Obama had made—resulting in the current situation.

The root of our demise is the failure of the American culture of insatiation. Americans' spiritual desperation has exceeded the capacity of another bottomless wing night at TGI Friday's to palliate. Only by burning America to the ground can their agony find it's proper expression.
