This morning, I opened the Duolingo app. I don't care.

Any suggestions for a similar, free or cheap language learning app would be most welcome (one I previously liked, Lingodeer, has now put everything behind a paywall).

Theyve also taken the decision to fire people and replace content creators and linguists with AI.

I'll no longer be using or recommending Duolingo.

They've also raved joyously about how they support minority languages, but seem to have swept their earlier commitment under the carpet and have closed down and removed people from working on any updates or doing work on courses such as Welsh and Esperantofor example.
