Thanks for this link. Ultimately the economics will become increasingly compelling and I believe will begin to drown out local ecology concerns. There's no ideal solution, but high volume, renewable energy with a steady and predictable output is a big prize.

Yes, but all of these plans are for tidal stream generation, which is relatively small potatoes. It is tidal range that has the greatest potential, like the one in Brittany. No schemes for this being advanced in the UK atm.
