For the latter part there's already a way iirc.
You can alter the start parameters to join a fixed instance ID, and iirc it should open the instance under that id if none is open.
Take it with a grain of salt, since I'm not home to test it. I'll answer again after testing.

when i started out (back in VRoid Beta) it was rough, hard to use, but it still offered a quick and easy entry point.
The updates only made it easier to use and improved its flexibility.

Make your own group and host group+.
This way your friends can still stay blue/green, but the mutuals that you dislike can be preemptively banned. Heck you can even invite your close friends into the group, so they can see your instance, even when you yourself are on yellow/red.
