A special mention to the wonderful Derek Dottie, who works at the Parish and enthusiastically spoke to us, providing so much information on the hall and what happened on the 6th July 1957. If you are going to Liverpool, this is a must - the spot where it all started.

What an experience to see inside St Peter’s Church, Woolton - the spot where John Lennon first met Paul McCartney, who played 20 Flight Rock and was asked to join John's group. It is the most important spot in music history, and for me it was quite an emotional moment. #TheBeatles

Bumped into this chancer in Liverpool today, claiming he is Paul McCartney. To be fair, he does look a bit like him. He was going in to encourage a bunch of kids who are graduating today from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Maybe he made it past security!

1. So, after 10 or so years, I finally got my hands on The Beatles in Mono Boxset. The first album I've played is The White Album, because, in my view, it is the greatest album ever!! But would the Mono version sound different/better from the Stereo version? Monster thread incoming! #Beatles

Happy Rubber Soul day. 59 years old and it still wins the "album cover I've stared at the most" award. I bought my first RS around 1981 and it hangs proudly on my wall, the vinyl is in good nick and will be getting spun later. What a friggin amazing album! #RubberSoul
