Apr 15: I feel like this should be more than just my 9th book completed for the year. Wouldn’t call this elite but it’s a good murder mystery, incredibly violent, and set in a small town tinged with a violent and racist past.

Mar 29: Seems like I’m experiencing my usual reading cooldown as it took way too long to finish this.

Feb 25: So this book also didn’t have what I was looking for, but maybe I’m also stupid?

Feb 23:

Picked this up because I’m looking into Cosmic Horror for a thing. This didn’t quite have what I needed but it’s a fascinating look at the making of a monster.

Feb 17:

I’ve been tired and on the edge for weeks so of course it took me 12 days from reading the prologue to convince myself to settle down and read the rest.

Feb 4:

Unfortunately no picture on the desk for this one because my power is still off. This is another mystery about a missing Black girl that nobody knows is missing.

Jan 28:

This one I’m kind of on the fence with. I wasn’t really taken in by the true crime aspect, but the cultural aspects were really interesting as they’re completely new to me aside from hearing of The Soo from Shoresy

I don’t know what my problem is that it took me 17 days to finish this. It’s not nearly as long as it looks and for a book about language it’s much easier to get through than I thought it would’ve been.
