I agree. Online comics are not as printed comics : reader is not focusing long enough on each panel to notice that some are without full backgounds. And coloured background are indeed good to show mood, emotions, shock, etc.

I don't think you're intimidating ! Actually I tend to follow the same guys for 20 years so I guess everybody got old and busy with life, families, etc. And look intimidating while actually just don't have a lot of free time anymore...
