Yeah man. Anything that clocks in at over 40k words (according to this wiki definition) and has all the hallmarks of a novel is a novel. Maybe not a wholly original novel but damn, neither is the bible or any of those King Arthur novels.

Nah (for example) some Hobbit fanfiction I've read can't be called anything but a novel! The #Thilbo fandom, to this day!, will fucking give you something novel length, with prose worthy of your favorite god (0r JRR I guess) make you laugh, cry, swear, and spit. That shit be better than any novel
