Gaming(retro and modern), Linux and technology in general.
Actually, I checked and it may work. But it still would not make sense since there are much cheaper normal MicroSD cards.

I thought the shift was a brilliant idea. The only problem is most cases expect the cables to come out the back so it can be awkward routing the cables from the side.

Also, a lot of cases just don't support this layout at all so I ended up having to replace my PSU when I switched cases.

Be aware that the costco "SE" version is QLC and not TLC like the non-costco version.

Sounds stressful. I hope you hear from your brother soon and all is well.

For myself I have picked up some games, movies and an entry level gaming laptop.

As gifts I have a picked up a GPU and several games plus some random items.

I am waiting on some nvme deals. Hoping to see some come through today or tomorrow.
November 27, 2025 at 2:18 PM
Yes, I know. I ordered one too. I was just pointing out that it is *supposed* to cost that price. Pretty sure HP isn't intending to sell them for $350.

Almost definitely a pricing error on their site. Great deal for us unless they cancel all the orders.
November 27, 2025 at 4:32 AM
Yeah....here is the price it is supposed to be:

Feels like this is probably a pricing error. Will be curious if it ships.

Also, FYI that the price goes up if you login to an HP account.
November 27, 2025 at 4:15 AM
Yeah, I mean...it isn't much of a gaming laptop with 8GB of RAM and a mobile 5050 but.....$350. I don't think I have seen a laptop that cheap with a current gen dedicated GPU before.

It also has a 144Hz IPS panel.....

Thanks for the video.

Looks to me like they did a Switch port and then half-assed a Switch 2 port after the fact.

It is the difference between a console maker who wants to sell consoles to grow market share and one who wants sell consoles only if they make a short-term profit.

It is a strange device to price. It is using a mix of 1-2 generation old tech.

You really couldn't get a truly similar PC very easily unless you bought used. Even then, the PC would probably be better in specs.

OTOH, the SM comes with a controller.

I think it can't be more than a PS5 Pro.
November 23, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Ouch. Hope you feel better tomorrow!
November 22, 2025 at 7:50 PM
It has already been 8 months? That is crazy.
November 22, 2025 at 7:33 PM
A steam deck and PS5 are totally different things. You are paying a premium for portability in that case.

A steam machine is just a PC. The idea that it is a console is just spin.

It only has 16GB of DDR5 and 8GB of VRAM, the price spikes will have some impact but not enough to get it to $1,200.
November 22, 2025 at 7:32 PM
If that is USD, I think that is way too high. For $1,200 you could buy a PC that would crush the steam machine.

Only die-hard fans would buy at that price. I would be pretty surprised if it was more than $800 and completely shocked if it was $1,000 or more.
November 22, 2025 at 6:52 PM
That really doesn't tell us all that much. You can get entry level PCs in the $500-800 range. They could be looking at $600 or even $1,000 I suppose.

I guess we will have to wait and see.
November 22, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Interesting that none of the Bethesda games are here. I guess they will come later?
November 22, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Glad to have you back!
November 22, 2025 at 3:32 PM
I switched years ago. I could never go back.
