Presenting my tier list for search engines

Quite obvious to have Bing/Google in the D tier especially since both engines are getting worse (although Bing has always been shit to begin with) plus being owned by Big Tech companies which means data collection and targeted advertising

You know Microsoft it would be better if you would stop shoving AI down into everyone's throats

Like I'm saying CoPilot can work as a competitor in a way but if it was not shoved into everyone's faces because it's getting annoying as fuck and not everyone wants it

If you know anything about my picks for privacy here

Man I can't imagine how Microsoft themselves must be satisfied about this as they continue to close more loopholes for having a local account

So much for YouTube to use AI to do the work for the platform instead of actual humans monitoring everything
It's an example of why we shouldn't trust AI

Then again a picture of the computer that we had and it was purchased from my mother's workplace back around 2002 as this guy at her workplace had PCs laying around and because my mother was an employee she got a discount on it ($799 original price but with the $150 discount: $649.99)

24 years ago today one of my all time favorite OSes was released to the public: Windows XP
And the OS where it all started with me as a Microsoft customer

Came across the new design on the new tab page from the folks over at Brave Software

And not gonna lie I much prefer this vs the old layout because it's very polished and more organized
October 15, 2025 at 7:43 AM
And then there was only one Windows version

Ngl this honestly feels weird because back in the day when I started using Windows in 2006 at 3 years old I remember when they had a couple of older versions still supported and it doesn't add the fact that Windows itself turns 40 next month
October 15, 2025 at 12:43 AM
Today's the day farewell and thanks for the memories 😔

RIP to my 4th favorite version (used to be 3rd favorite but Windows 11 became my 3rd favorite) of Windows

Honestly I'm utterly shocked how Brave is up by 3.59% here in the US and I can imagine that increase has to do with the fact that Google is in the midst of antitrust battles with the DOJ

I don't blame ya I've also started to part ways with Google after learning about the search and ad tech cases

Presenting my updated picks for privacy

And yes given how problematic Windows is nowadays and Microsoft not saying anything about it when their users are reporting issues I have now included it

You know Google you're lucky that I've already ditched Chrome, Gmail and Authenticator and seeing AI being implemented to detect your age is making me reconsider to ditch more services for alternatives and spend less time on YouTube

Like this is fucking bullshit man

And btw just to give a good idea of what the first version of the famous BSOD looked like

Yeah it was nothing like today since back then it was just a bunch of gibberish for the stop codes since Windows back then was just a GUI shell on top of MS-DOS as this was before it became a standalone OS

Starting with the July 2025 Bug fixing updates for Windows 11 24H2 Microsoft has now killed off the famous Blue Screen of Death that has been around since the very first version of Windows and has now replaced it with a Black Screen of Death

And btw a picture of what our first computer looked like as well

And this is the reason why I rely on 3rd party for antivirus Windows Defender may have gotten better over the years but still is kind of shit when it comes to detection rates
June 2, 2025 at 7:25 AM
You know I find it funny how people ask what the recommendations are for best free antivirus
For me my recommendations are Bitdefender Free and Windows Defender

Nowadays it's pretty much useless to pay for a AV as more and more people now rely on built-in protection or a free AV from a 3rd party

For those thinking we should do away with permanent DST

Look back at the first time we did this in the 1970s it's a bad idea for our kids especially in the winter months when sunrises are 9 AM or later

So glad that I ditched Google Chrome for Brave after nearly 11 years (2014-2025)

When Paramount+ removes Nickelodeon titles

(If you don't know the context of this meme basically it's another example of why physical media is better over streaming because the rule of thumb is when you buy the complete series DVD you have 100% full ownership of the content)

It was 39 years ago yesterday in 1985 that Windows came into the scene as a OS

Happy 39th to Windows 1.0 and Microsoft Windows as a whole
November 22, 2024 at 4:20 AM
12 years ago today one of the most infamous versions of Windows was released that being Windows 8
As we all know Windows 8 was infamous for its Start screen since Microsoft was taking that approach from mobile devices given the rapid rise of mobile devices however they went too far with its strategy
October 26, 2024 at 2:21 PM
Since Windows XP turned 23 years old today I figured I would remake this tier list again

This tier list for some of the Windows versions is based on research since I started with Windows XP (and as a whole in the family)
