“Dune” by Frank Herbert

I’ve watched the first part of the two movies that came out, I’ve been wanting to read it, I got it cheap a while back and now I’m taking the opportunity to dig into it.

Modern over of Dune by Frank Herbert. There are sand dunes with the word DUNE spelled vertically in bold white letters in the sand. A figure dressed in white walks along the dunes, leaving a trail of footsteps behind them. On the bottom right there is an unfortunate black circle that says “Now a Major Motion Picture”. I dislike this but the book was cheap so I put up with it. What’s with booksellers putting this on there? Advertisements for the movies? They really degrade the look of the book in my opinion and I haven’t ever met anyone who likes them. Then again, nobody likes ads and they are still everywhere so who knows.

I’ve been reading “Galactic North” by Alastair Reynolds for a week now and I’m almost done. I am really loving it and forgot how much I enjoy reading shorter fiction!

Picked this up at 2nd and Charles for like a couple bucks, A Heritage of Stars by Clifford D. Simak. So far I'm really enjoying it! I wanted to branch out and try some new authors, this is a good start I think!
