Starting over on a new social media platform? In these 30s?
I permanently migrated my Trails games to PC starting with Reverie. I barely touch any console these days. I have one (1) Nintendo Switch 2 game and haven't played a PS5 game since Unicorn Overlord. Just feels like a hassle.

Same. Yesterday. Literally yesterday.

#49: Super Robot Wars Y: Although I had some gripes with this game, I thought it was pretty great overall. It's the first SRW since OGMD that actually has some teeth on its hardest difficulty. It also has decent diversity of objectives and strategies and a solid roster. I may check out DLC later!

That sounds like a pretty ringing endorsement of Taskmaster Australia. I've gotta check it out.

#48: Luminous Arc: This is a very short and reasonably cute strategy RPG. In a genre where most of these games take 50+ hours, this one was done in less than 30. The mechanics are are essentially FFT but pared down and streamlined. The resolution of the DS does it no favors in terms of readability.

#47: Absolum: I love the emphasis this roguelike beat 'em up puts on juggling and combos. The actual moment-to-moment gameplay is way more engaging than any other beat 'em up I've played, but the build diversity doesn't always wow me. Even so, it's enough fun that it doesn't matter that much.

At least 100 hours...

I DID NOT NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE anyway here's a screenshot I took of this game 11 years ago. That game is certainly something.

I tried replying to your initial post but it said it was deleted (?)

#46: Blue Prince: I admire this game more than I actually enjoy it. The idea of crafting a manor in specific layouts to progress a broader meta-narrative is really cool, but the RNG element means you're often relying on luck to have a chance to advance. Over many runs, it starts to wear thin.

Judging by my Steam friend list, it's not uncommon to own the game and not play it or finish it. I mean, I've owned it for some time myself. It's a pretty heavy game, especially early on.

I can definitely relate to that. There are some very zeitgeisty games that I didn’t particularly care for but this one really works for me. It kind of feels like an evolution of what Baldur's Gate was doing in the late 90s, just in a more realist setting. If anything, I wish it were longer.

#45: Disco Elysium: It's really not often that I play a new game that I could potentially consider one of my favorite games of all time. Disco Elysium could certainly be on that list and it's crazy that I waited this long to play it. Dense, literary narrative. Immaculate role-playing and dialogue.

Well, she can't claim to have had a boring day, I guess.

This is how I've learned that I also missed the album he released earlier this year. Just bought 'em both, thanks.

It's been a very long time, but I remember putting something like 90 hours into that game, so something about it must have worked for me.
October 29, 2025 at 8:13 PM
Well, actually, I'm kind of enjoying it so far. But yes, speedup absolutely helps. It's helped with all of these games, though, ESPECIALLY Black Sigil. (I also remember liking FFTA2 quite a bit, so maybe I'm just a tactical RPG apologist.)

Its quite doable since you have access to a ton of different ways to boost your stats. Great Runes, flasks, talismans. You will generally get one-shotted but you can still do insane damage. Serpent Hunter has no stat requirements at all, for one example.
