Agreed. The manifold economic and wellness benefits from full just legalisation of cannabis that you touch on are more likely to become reality if those in authority would take care to understand them .

Yes alcohol is widely available subsidised in Westminster bars, so that's a factor.
The power of Big Pharma affects newspapers (and tv?) via advertising and heavily influences NHS & private medicine.
The alcohol industry is mostly not keen on cannabis.

I have nothing but respect for this gentleman. He has summarised well the corrupt and dysfunctional UK political system and corporate influence that permeates it.

Doesn't this tell you that the legal cannabis industry is under huge pressure? That Californians want access, but have to turn to illicit operations?
Legality just seems like a wink and nod, and has gone back to funding criminal groups, with government blessing.
