Despite its dreadful title – I mean, seriously, think about it. Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. I’m guessing that it carries more meaning in Japanese than English – AHEM. In spite of its dreadful title, Rascal (I’m not typing the whole name again) is actually a pretty clever and honest look at teen-aged insecurity. I don’t know if you were insecure as a teen-ager, but I damned sure was.

Yeah, the writers who put that on paper should be sentenced to writing for the Hallmark Channel in perpetuity.

Normally I would hand the deconstruction of soft-core porn like Why the Hell Are You Here, Teacher? over to Galileo’s alter egos Salvati and Simplicito, and no doubt Salvati would shut up and let Simplicito take care of it. After all, Simplicito has figured out the magic formula: Give your audience what they want That’s what Teacher (life’s too short to write that title out every time) does, although maybe we can dig into it.

I’m not going to look you in the eye and pretend that Momiji Sohma is essential or key in any way to the plot of Fruits Basket. Let’s be honest: If he disappeared entirely it would be hard to tell he was gone. The show wouldn’t be as good, though, and that would be for a couple reasons. One of the reasons is that Momiji’s constant good nature is just plain fun to watch, isn’t it?
