I also never understood his overly aggressive approach at the plate. More often than not swinging at the first pitch and swinging out of his shoes every at bat. It’s not an approach that made him or the team successful. No plate discipline or patience. I don’t get it. Have a nice career in SF. 2/2

I’d been less enthused with Devers each succeeding year. It’s like the joy he had as a rookie was slowly melting off. It’s not really his fault as he should never have been the centerpiece of the team. And I said that right after they allowed both Mookie & Xander to leave. 1/2

I have been of the opinion Devers has gotten more unlikable the older he has gotten so, again, I wouldn’t have been opposed to a trade. A fair trade. Plus they don’t spend anymore so I don’t know what big moves we can expect from the $237M “savings.” 1/2

They better or a lot of long time fans are heading for the exits. Permanently. The idea of a trade of a disgruntled player isn’t so bad, it is the absolutely embarrassing return.
