This just came in from someone I personally know. ICE is using immigration enforcement as a cover to attack trans people in Seattle. Please spread this. Please be safe
Hello everyone, We have gotten word that [redacted] was raided by ICE and they invalidated government IDs of many of the transgender folks whose IDs don't match the national birth certificate database. So they are not just looking for undocumented folks. Please do not let anyone who is not a client or a volunteer into [redacted]. ICE must have a warrant to enter. It is also recommended that if folks have a passport, they should not be carrying those with them. We may want to think about setting up a system to be able to keep those documents locked at [redacted] for clients because we don't want their passports invalidated. As I learn more i will pass out the information. We have heard that ICE is lingering outside of Seattle nonprofit organizations and raiding homeless encampments. Very scary times. I'm so sorry this is happening. Be safe out there.
