Like lighting your house on fire, then putting out the fire claiming to be the hero, but you're still left with a smoldering, half-burned down house.

Americans would gladly buy quality, American-made goods if they made a living wage and could afford them. Instead, a handful of billionaires maintain a stranglehold on the vast majority of the nation's wealth meaning middle and lower class individuals often have to opt for cheaper goods.

It's not their job to be loyal to any president. Their role is to interpret the Consitution and ensure equal justice. What is the point in having a SC if they are just supposed to side with the president that gave them the seat? Might as well just have a dictator over our country calling the shots.

I disagree. Capitalism allows for free-enterprise. Small business owners work extremely hard in most cases for example.

What you are describing sound more like labor exploitation.

As vile as I believe Trump and Musk to be, the one thing they understand is how to grab attention through short tweets or sound bites that are easily digestible to get their sick, twisted points across.

I recommend reading @chrislhayes.bsky.social's "The Siren's Call" as your homework assignment.

While I appreciate your efforts as of late, Democrats need to learn how things work in the internet age.

This post is, sadly, the definition of TL;DR in today's society. Many Americans are going to see a huge block of text and keep scrolling.

"Did I say that? I don't think I said that. I've never even heard of the guy...what'd you say his name was? Leon? Neon? Elon? Never heard of him."

I know it's "pie in the sky" thinking and easier said by a random dude on the internet than actually implementing, but we can do better than what we have now.

There needs to be a better system for fairly compensating individuals that contribute to society, providing assistance and lifting up those that need help, and redistributing vast amounts of wealth that a select few have ammassed.

And to be clear, I am not anti-capitalism. I believe in granting greater rewards for hard work and innovation that makes the world a better place.

But, I also believe we vastly undervalue many roles in society (sanitation and maintenance workers, educators, etc.) and grossly overcompensate others.

How much wealth in the US is locked up in assets by the ultra-wealthy that end up getting passed along to their heirs upon their death, ultimately creating even more billionaires who get to keep compounding on their families' fortunes. Riches that never make it back into circulation in the economy.

Am I the only one that appreciates the lowercase "trump" not once, but twice. And proper capitalization and punctuation on "U.S." makes it seem all too intentional. 🙂

Not saying it can't or shouldn't be done, but there's logistical challenges that need to be overcome. Localized demonstrations often make more sense.

It's harder for the US to stage something of that magnitude in a single location due to population density.

US is ~28x the size of Germany (Montana itself is larger) yet only ~4x population. To organize in DC, you're asking people to travel large distances. Upwards of 4-5 hours or more by plane.

So let's say hypothetically we cut all these federal programs and "leave them in the hands of the states". Doesn't that just increase the amount of taxes you'd pay to the state?

In the chapter "Best Story Wins", he explains that people are more likely to believe and follow a good story than just facts or data. We’re surrounded by so much information that most people don’t have time to figure it all out.

I have been thinking a lot about what the Democrats need to do to get more voters to understand their viewpoints. Then, listening to "Same As Ever" by Morgan Housel on audiobook today it sort of clicked for me.
