anyway thats it i just wanted to rant about it. good reminder i really love horror/horror adjacent things and some write ups about black horror i've read before. also a reminder i need to actually finish some horror/black horror books i've started and never finished cause i'm allergic to reading

anyway and very obvious would be the color white - the spiritual, which is different than supernatural. Annie at the end. the church being white. white used as what we think is spiritual, or maybe more accurately, where we go in the afterlife regardless of where you believe that is.

the color OPPOSITE to blue. you know what wasn't orange? the church. Mostly white...but something that stuck with me is i recalled shots where even the church...was tinged with blue.

something i keep wondering is where smoke and stack fit into this dichotomy. why wasn't smoke red/orange? hm.

the thing that struck me first was the use of blue - that very moonlit, supernatural, deep blue. 2/3 initial vampires are wearing blue. the nighttime outside the juke joint is blue - if i recall...there were moments inside the church tinged w/ blue.

hot take - i kinda agree. like yes, getting chased by probably like a large tiger, or any other huge predator is scary - but not comparable to say, other horror creatures. signed, someone who's had to draw a lot of dinos
