What is a Dear Creator Letter?
A Dear Creator Letter is something you put together and provide with your sign up in order to give your Gifter more details on your request. It is common to use Google Docs (make sure sharing is enabled so anyone with the link may view), a private Tumblr post, a Carrd site, or Ellipsus to write and link your letter. In your letter you might include things like prompts, tropes, scenarios, or settings you like. You may even go into detail for each pairing you’ve requested and let your Gifter know exactly what you like about that pairing or situations you like to see them in. If you’re okay with receiving NSFW works, this is also a good place to let your Gifter know what kinds of things you like in those situations as well. The whole point of the Dear Creator Letter is to give your Gifter a jumping off point so they can try to produce something you enjoy.

What do I put in the description of my signup?
The only thing that must be in your sign up description is a list of Do Not Wants (DNW). DNWs are the things that you very much would not enjoy, such as tropes you dislike, triggers, characters you’re not fond of (do not use judgemental language), NSFW related things you dislike (or if you don’t want NSFW at all). They must be in the description to be enforceable by the mods as you will not be able to edit the description after the sign up is submitted. You may also include things you like/want in your signup description, but if your list is rather long or you just want nice formatting, you may use a Dear Creator Letter as well.

How does matching work?
We are using the AO3 automated matching system. The system will match offers and requests together that have at least 1 relationship in common with each other. You do not necessarily have to create a gift based off that pairing if something else on your giftee’s list catches your eye, but this system guarantees that each gifter has at least one option they are comfortable with.

What are Treats?
Treats are extra gifts. There’s no need to reach out or contact anyone, or even declare to the mods that you’re creating a treat. You’ll be able to see all of the signups through the AO3 collection page. After your assigned gift is finished, you’re more than welcome to browse the other signups and create for something that catches your eye, provided that person is okay with treats. Then just post it to the collection with the requestor in the “Gift this work to” field. There’s no guarantee you’ll get treats in return though, this is just something extra some creators like to do for exchanges for the fun of it.
