We have been working to turn our yard into a pollinator paradise. I noticed that our parsley is filled with black swallowtail larvae. I am both happy and grossed out!

I have discovered there are rarely hard rules in gardening. I have things in pots that “shouldn’t” be in pots that have thrived for years. Same with shade versus sun. Plants want to live and dogs are garden killers.

As an adopter of two black rescue pups, I can vouch that they amazing!

Do you know how big she is supposed to get? I know it is all a guess. Our dog was only supposed to be roughly 40 pounds according to her genetic testing but she is now 72 pounds of pure muscle. Interestingly, both her sisters are about 40 lbs.

This is the message we all need this morning. Kindness is pretty easy and it costs nothing.

Around our house, dork is term of affection. In the spirit of taking joy in the little things. My winter garden looks so much better in snow!

Cold season has arrived so I bought Sassafras new jammies, hoping she would not need to crawl under the covers. Woke up shivering with her naked and rolled up in my blanket.

I started a medicinal herb garden a few years ago that is overtaking the yard. We just turned the shady part of the lawn into native plants. And it was a record breaking cucumber year!
