This says the 26 episode Disney contract means there should be 8 episodes left - but the 3 David Tennant specials, 2 Christmas specials, two 8-episode seasons and the 5-episode UNIT spinoff = 26.

Clearly people love some Target romance: there's as much fanfic about Rogue's dead boyfriend Art (who only appears in the novelisation and doesn't get named onscreen) as both Joy to the World companions combined.

I'm pretty sure this is it. The Doctor says the goblins went after Ruby because they feed on coincidence. Desiderium is from the Zufall family - "coincidence" in German.

Maybe they also looked ahead to the Wish World storyline (which was obviously set up in Space Babies with Ruby as the mum, "we're not your mummy and daddy, Poppy, I wish we were") and released it'd look bad for 30-something John Smith to have a wife who would have been 16 when their kid was born
