Frieda is resting her chin on my leg, looking at me. She is a rescue from Mexico, and we think she is a Dachshund cross. She’s got long ears, long snoot, long body, and easty-westy feet. A few years ago I found this hummingbird nest in my parking spot. It had been blown off a tree after the babies fledged.
I saw it as I got out of my car…I’d driven over it.
Incredible to see that it was not damaged. And incredible structure design! #nature #hummingbird
Hummingbird nest in the palm of my hand. There’s lichen, moss, bits of fur, and likely spider web used to construct it. The inside of the nest is lined with soft materials. It is very stretchy.
