As an aside, I SUCK at making a hero robot that doesn't scream blatant super robot.
Every real robot mech design I make without that aesthetic they look like this given one of my personal favorite Transformer is G1 Skyfall to the point he's my most referenced mecha design in my mental images.

A couple weeks ago I got a Marvel Transformers #1 comic sketch cover and today I did a quick Star Convoy sketch, scanned it and this afternoon digitally inked/colored it. I tried going for a cel shaded look, a what if Takara commissioned Toei or Sunrise to animate a Return of Convoy OVA

A pic I did back in August where Chara Soon of Gundam ZZ managed to cross the dimensional barrier and become a G Fighter. She enjoys the G Tracer process far too much for her own good but she is a maschocist so naturally she prolongs the uncomfortable tracing process for her own pleasure.
