I think a talk I had with Randon a while ago lead me to plan my long overdue exit.

The games industry is less stressful than the job I worked at, so maybe I'll do that full-time.

Maybe I'll return to making hats.

Who knows!

For now I'll chill and sit on my mountain of gold.

Today I'm going to ship my last product (with an Epic MegaGrant!) at the company I work for and then I will get 2 weeks of PTO until my contract ends.

It's been taking a toll on me so now I'm moving on and I'm going to take a break to take care of my physical and mental!

At one point I did the work of a full game-dev studio simultaneously (that's ye startup life) & basically shipping a full game worth of work every 3 months.

Trust me, I know the stress that comes with that since I optimize and ship games as a side hustle. :-)

Built cloud simulations for AWS' simulation product at the time and other NDA clients + the geometric layer behind those. Built C# libraries on top of the native libraries I built. Made strides in compressing networked crowds. Etc, etc.

Built a lot of high-performance simulation products, navigation mesh solutions and crowd renderers using basically everything from scratch solutions (Vulkan, OpenGL, DirectX) to in-engine solutions (Unity, Unreal Engine, VBS4, other NDA engines)..

Worked with the biggest simulation corpos (BISim, BAE, CAE, AWS, other NDA orgs/institutes) out there during my time there and lead development on (and built) a lot of those projects.
