I think it was more the lack of reconstruction & change that was the biggest issue. Good theory, poor and sabotaged execution - and too many compromises. It never went as far as it was supposed to. Lincoln died, Jackson became President and that was a wrap. Grant tried but by then it was too late.

I really wish the standard response to these Confederate Flag, I’m just celebrating mug heritage BS was a resounding why do you hate America and a reminder that this country has and has only ever had one flag (that changed with the admittance of new states). These people are pathetic.
