my best friends for the next few days as i deal with a 101 F fever (which isn’t a lot it’s the cough and sinuses bothering me more, 101 fever is child’s play). also im practically snorting powdered ginger (well no but i put a shit ton in my chai).
a packet of ricola cough drops, a spray bottle of propolis, and a green tin of idk what the brand is bc it’s thai and i can’t read it but it’s a little tin with a bag of menthol, camphor and some other herbs that help with unblocking the nose + preventing dizziness

talk about a massive tone shift in sunday meals between brunch and dinner

(you can’t see but there’s old newspaper under the meal tray i’m not rawdogging it on my bedsheets).

by the by if u get tirtir bc of this, patch test one shade lighter. it oxidises v v quickly. when i put it on it looks p pale but within ~30mins it’s a match (by the time i do my base vs actually exit the house).

got dragged out to the movies today and cried so hard at said movie but at least i had the corner recliner

(also i took the pics during intermission, that’s just a trailer and obv it wouldn’t be all lit up during the movie).

screenshot of a thread from my twt: random thought i had but foreign perspective of indian food and my perspective of indian food is so different. like if i was abroad and someone asked me what the good indian restaurants are i wouldn't know because i don't seek them out. i lived a whole year and a half in the UK and i barely knew the indian restaurants. bc to me there's a clear distinction between restaurant style indian food and home cooked indian food. restaurant dishes are very fragrant, high on spices and oils-it's great but not everyday. for many of us (won't generalise, billion people and all, but from the people i know) it's a rarity. you might have that stuff at (continued in next pic) billion people and all, but from the people i know) it's a rarity. you might have that stuff at a restaurant, at a buffet, or like occasionally you might go all out when hosting guests. but that much oil and spice would be havoc on my body for all meals on a daily basis not to mention which parent has the time to make all that everyday for kids?? so the dishes ppl associate with indian cuisine (dal makhani, butter chicken, stacks of naans) are what i also eat occasionally. now what i do when im abroad is search for indian stores where i can get spices so i can make regular home cooked indian food. simple jeera rice, dals, easy sabzis, rotis/parathas, maybe a simpler chilli chicken, some raita for the probiotics, cut up cucumbers and radish as a salad. maybe a jar of pickle if i feel like spice but even then i do prefer the homemade pickles the jars my grandma has sent for us. if im feeling a sweet tooth sure occasionally i might make a gajar or suji halwa but that's also a lot of work. so i much prefer smth simple, the kind of thing i'd have been allowed to have quickly during tea time in the afternoon. like a slice of regular sandwich bread with malai (clotted cream) and sprinkled shakkar (shakkar is used interchangeably to mean sugar but it's technically different, at least where im from. shakkar is powdered jaggery and the only jaggery i can stand rily, different from the processed white sugar that i call cheeni lol). also if i want a drink i don't have patience to always make lassi ok. thankfully lassi and chhaas (better than lassi if u ask me) comes in packaged cartons. but if i had to whip up smth myself id do a simple shikanji. and if im craving south indian food im not making complex sambar or huge papery dosas, i dont have even have the utensils for it. a simpler dosa on a pan. i do invest in an idli tray though the kind that can go in a rice cooker. and an easy chutney.

Here's why (and then it has a dotted arrow encouraging me to look at the side) side of my toothpaste box: You will love this label. For 32 reasons. While we're proud of our natural extracts and ingredients, it all goes down the drain (figuratively) if people don't brush their teeth for 2 minutes. Quite a bummer, right? So we made this label - with 245 words. That's approximately the number of words an adult can silent-read in 2 minutes. Now the next time you whip out your brush, just start reading this label from the top, all the way to the bottom. (you re half-way there!) By the time you reach the last word, you'll have brushed for 2 minutes without setting a timer! Simple. Now isn't that jaw-dropping? Well, more like jaw-building. Ingredients: Aqua (Demineralised Water), Sorbitol. Hydrated Silica, Sodium Methyl (list cuts off in the image here) bottom part of my green toothpaste box, after the ingredients list: Directions for Use: Wet your brush and then apply some paste. Or apply the paste first and wet the brush later. Hey, we're not judging. Unless you're a no-water-completely-dry-tooth-paste-only person. That's weird. He knows, in his heart he knows, that the warmth enveloping him burns hotter than the fieriest pits of the otherworlds. Yet, yet, it brings him little comfort. When Yoongi peels himself away from his husband, he pretends as if the residue of Hoseok's sweat on his chest is little more than dew drops on a chilled morning. "You will dismiss him," Yoongi states, clearing his throat. Free of emotion, free of the desperation he had allowed himself to succumb into. It is a weakness, and he cannot, he must not be weak. If he is weak, then the realm... the Gods...no. He cannot be weak. Hoseok clicks his tongue, shaking his head. For a moment, he keeps his stare on Yoongi. Yoongi returns it, tipping his chin up. It is difficult to ascertain exactly what noise Hoseok makes, but it seems at home on his war-weathered face, a face Yoongi still struggles to recognise after nearly two scores of knowing Hoseok. He watches Hoseok tug on the strings of his robe, uncaring to pull the ends together. As if the remains of Yoongi's touch on his naked form are a badge of honour. A medal. A trophy he has won. "I need his service," Hoseok says, grabbing the abandoned goblet of wine. Tipping it into his mouth in one go, he wipes the shine of the drink off his lips. "You will," Yoongi repeats, fingers clenching. The soft, velvet touch of his own robe is meant for gentler handling, but Yoongi pretends it is like his chainmail as it rucks up in his palm. "Dismiss him. Make new friends. Find a new secretary. I do not care. You will dismiss him." "Why?" Hoseok spits back. As if he has not received an order from his king. As if here, in front of the slithering flames of Yoongi's fireplace, free of the consort's coronet, Hoseok is somehow an equal. Yoongi fears he may be. "Because," Yoongi insists, hissing through a tightened jaw, willing himself to not lose control again. "He taunts me with your closeness." Hoseok scoffs, rolling his eyes but Yoongi takes a step forward. Yoongi should not feel the thrill he does when it makes Hoseok stop and look, through hooded, empty eyes, yes, but look nonetheless. "That is more than an insult." Yoongi tightens the drawstrings of his own robe, yanking them hard till they cinch and dig into his waist. Hide the shame of giving in. "It makes my authority over him a joke." Grabbing the pitcher, Yoongi takes a swig directly from it. The taste of the wine is sharp on his tongue. Its bitter edge cracks through him, waking him up. He does not care to wipe the scarlet drops that drip down his chin. He does not care that Hoseok watches them slide down his neck. "And it makes him no true friend of yours if he intends to use you," Yoongi adds, slamming the pitcher back on the table. "Whether it is to elevate his own position or attempt to ruin mine." "Will dismissing him not play into what he wants?"Hoseok asks. "Humouring him plays it worse." Yoongi shakes his head. "He is nothing less than a viper who thinks I am a dog, one who will roll over. I will not." For a moment, neither of them say a word. Hoseok simply watches Yoongi. When he finally exhales, it sounds light and heavy at once. "Dismiss him then," Hoseok says, waving a hand. He continues tightening his own robe around himself as if he does not know, as if he does not take joy in the indignation that courses through Yoongi. "No," Yoongi snaps, closing the distance between them. His fingers are wet, either with wine, or sweat, or tears, or remnants of blood. A mixture that smears Hoseok's chin as Yoongi grabs it, forcing him to look Yoongi in the eye. The fire that dances in that gaze is more than just a reflection now. "You will dismiss him. You will put him in his place as you should have done." Yoongi lets go of Hoseok's chin, hating that he is gentle about it. "Do not forget the power of your position and those who may attempt to leech from it," Yoongi explains, looking down at his fingers. They, too, feel warmed again from the brief brush of skin. Warmth that travels up his wrist when Hoseok grabs it. "Only if you never forget whose side you belong by," Hoseok hisses, and then steps back. And although he turns and storms out of the bedchamber, slamming the door behind him, Yoongi can tell-Hoseok hates himself for being gentle too. "So long as you do not forget to take your place by mine," Yoongi whispers.
