A great enjoyer of medieval fantasy.

i do not cry at games, but tainted grail brought me - and still brings me - to tears upon thinking about the journey I took."

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a fucking modern masterpiece, and it's by far the best game I have probably ever played in my entire life.

to the Forlorn Swords and meeting with the jotunn.

it's a game i can't recommend more than i ever can, and it's reignited not only my hope for fantasy games, but my childish love for a classic, morally grey swords-and-sorcery setting.

and the calling of the forces that made the world as it is to resurrect such a powerful figure thematically struck with me.

i remember every little thing i experienced. from the getting lost in caves, to the cheese, to the Necromancer killing himself for the sake of the experiment, -

elevated the experience to a level that i didnt even physically or mentally know it could've benefited from.

i'm even sitting here reminiscing about it even though i beat the game last month. and it broke me. seeing the culmination of the storyline, the final conversation with Hob, seeing how my decisions changed Avalon and the soundtrack by the unfathomably talented Death Verified and Andrzej Janicki -

the characters i spoke to, the journey i went through with the Once and Future King, Arthur Pendragon? i dont actually know what i would do to have the chance to replay it ever again, but i know that no matter what i'll always be thinking about it.

even the PVP ones that i forced so much of my time playing - For Honor, Mordhau, Chivalry. all left in a completely dogshit state after a few years.

but tainted grail was different. i cant quite put my hand on as to why, but the setting? the world? -

was thinking that everything to do with it was doomed to some level of mediocrity, staleness, unfathomably stupid business decisions or trying to forcibly copy the souls-like formula in order to hope it can have a level of success to satisfy everyone.

I've not particularly worked with Vask on a fully-professional level, but I have known him for just a little while already and I have to agree.

He's such a great guy to be around and he's genuinely knowledgeable on the things he says.
