What's changed since the Boomers isn't income level, it's savings level. We used to save over 10% of every paycheck, now we save less than 5%. And that makes people feel financially insecure: fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/?g=1NXXI

Also, why the hell is Summers within 10000 ft of Project 2029? He shaped the austerity-hobbled recovery after 2008. Two years ago he insisted we couldn't kill inflation without unemployment hitting 10%. He's a blustering fool who should've been catapulted out of Dem circles BEFORE the Epstein emails

It's also wild how much "conservatives" stop believing in the tenets of the free market when it's inconvenient. Undocumented demand is leading to sustained high housing prices? That's not a *demand* problem, nor a *supply* problem (there's plenty of housing units). That's a market-is-broken problem!

The real problem here IMO is that centrist Dems are not really progressives at all, they're anti-Republicans who, if given power, would tweak a few things but otherwise have no agenda. Problem is, in the context of an activist GOP they become the still half of a one-way conservative ratchet
