What was it about Lewis letting England captain Heather Knight do whatever she wanted that endeared him to London Spirit GM Heather Knight?

I wasn't 100% sure it was out, if he reviewed it. If his hand was off his bat when it hit then I don't think it would count.

You say that, but Australia are 13-0 in the last three series in Australia so if they win the first three here...

The thing I take away from it is the apparent lack of a sub-editor. There's less and less difference between blogs and news websites with checking articles before publishing being cut back.

That reminds me: Regardless of the result, England will lose a minimum of 10 points in the World Test Championship because of slow over rates.

Ultimately, I expect Australia to win the series. England struggle against spinners and I suspect they will throw their wickets away trying to dominate Lyon.

If England do lose 5-0/4-0, it will be interesting to see what happens. Traditionally, the coach and DOC are both sacked.

The BOC account has had this as well. My guess would be that both accounts are on a Bluesky cricket list that has been promoted by someone.

Regarding the ECB hiding participation numbers, I don't think they're hiding the women's numbers specifically. It's the overall figures they're really trying to keep out of the spotlight. The last time they published them was in 2014, when that fell by 7%. www.espncricinfo.com/story/ecb-hi...
ECB hit by fall in participation numbers

Write in offering to consult on a storyline. Try and sneak in the line "Grace Scrivens wouldn't have been dismissed like that" into one of the scripts next year

Regarding the Hundred auction, there's no mention of a minimum team salary is there?

It seems likely to me that the men's auctions will result in teams being a lot closer to the £2.05m cap than the women's will to £880k, resulting in an increase in the pay % gap.

Sure, but they are paid less and have much less job security than someone sat at home on a central contract who has been dropped from the squad.

It also costs more budget-wise to pay two players concurrently, and the ECB hates spending money on women's cricket.

There are two clear fixes: They can be signed at any time in the year, and end at any time of the year. So Test players' deals might lapse after an Ashes series, white ball players after a World Cup. This wouldn't tie the hands of selectors.

I disagree completely. You have to give top cricketers some level of pay security, so that an injury doesn't effectively cut their wages by 75%.

It's not like it's hurting Australia's team. England's implementation is just horrifically bad.
